The unprecedented challenges of the past year have, in part, been mitigated by the incredible array of technologies powering digital transformation around the globe. Femme Fatality: Rebranding Female Leaders as CEOs
There has been a public reckoning of sorts for numerous female-run companies, especially in the tech industry. Women CEO’s that had previously been hailed as the embodiment of modern-day feminism have been accused of an abuse of power, and of being the antithesis of what is expected of female leaders. Many were forced to resign; some from the companies they co-founded.

Immigrants enrich the countries in which they live by bringing culture, a new worldview, and, as studies show, an entrepreneurial spirit. Immigrants are foundational to entrepreneurship and are twice as likely to become entrepreneurs than Americans born in the US.
Sepideh Nasiri is no exception. A serial entrepreneur with over 16 years of experience in the high-tech industry, she was born in Iran, then landed in Cupertino, CA, via Germany, with her family as a teen.

Women Of MENA In Technology Announces its Third Annual Conference “The Next Wave Of Innovators
Women Of MENA In Technology, a Silicon Valley-based Non-Profit organization will be hosting its Third Annual Conference, The Next Wave of Innovators, on Nov 5th and 6th, virtually. Founded with a mission of fostering diversity and closing the gender gap by empowering Middle Eastern and North African women in STEM, the event will address issues of inclusion and equality.

When it comes to representation, people of Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) descent have long faced a particular barrier: the lack of a box to check on official forms, including the U.S. Census. Instead of a distinct category, Americans who identify as MENA are instructed to check the box for “white”—whether or not that reflects their concept of identity or personal experience of the world, and despite the systemic barriers and discrimination they often face.

Hi Sepideh, what do you attribute your success to?
There are many factors to success, a few to mention are resilience, consistency, having a good network, great work habits. Contrary to what most people think or believe success comes from learning from mistakes and failures.
“Technology is increasing the amount of information we have access to, but it does not increase our capacity to absorb information. However, if it is used wisely, communication technologies can create a platform for intercultural learning”
What plan and policy do you have in place to develop intercultural competence in your organization? How do you prepare yourself and your organization for an intercultural workforce?
